Yeah, I just drew fan art of an anime. Really though, Gurren Lagann is pretty cool.

And I was going to draw Kamina but Simon basically becomes Kamina by the end of the series, and no one draws Simon.

Simon belongs to Gainaxand

I love his expression, and how you drew his mouth! I like the shading you did in his hair, and the shine on his goggles.

I really just can't get over how awesome his face is. Your styles just awesome.

That series was fucking awesome. I really enjoy the western flair to this, it looks like a individualistic interpretation of an anime work rather than a sad attempt to copy exactly what the character looks like in the show.

If you'd like a critique, the main problem I see is with the shading of the hair. Highlights should be in the middle, not the side of locks, unless the light source is directly behind him.

Thanks man. I've been told by people in the past that if I'm going to draw anime fanart then I need to draw it in anime, that that just pisses me off (screw you gaia).

And I was wondering why his hair looked so messed up to me! I may go back and actually fix it. Thanks a bunch.

I think one of the most important aspects of homage oriented art is to show characters in a new way. Gaia...I can't say that's a site I'm particularly fond of any way I look at it. I dislike when people limit their view of art to one particular style (whether anime or realism, or anything in between).

I loathe gaia now. I joined out of pure curiosity and I hated it in about two months. The only thing cool I did on that site was make a cool avatar, but everyone else hated it.

All and all, it's the weaboo middle school of the internet.
